We believe in the power of face to face conversations. Conversations lead to new ideas, create meaningful connections with others, and lead us down the path towards understanding. Conversations inspire, challenge, and connect us to the world we live in.

From this passion comes our purpose. Our mission is to transform the way people interact on the web by creating a global meeting place for idea sharing, debate, and expanding personal networks.

Fittingly enough, TheInteract itself started out as a conversation between two friends separated by thousands of miles. While living in different cultures away from our homes, we kept in touch using Skype and videochat.

During one of those conversations, in February 2010, we proposed the idea of theInteract, a place where the power of one on one conversation is utilized. Webvideo has allowed millions of people to upload their thoughts and achievements, but it is a platform of one to many, always remaining slightly inpersonal. We dream of a web that interacts like the real world, where you can reach out and talk to someone face to face, where the power of conversation is used as a positive force.

Over the next 7 months, we labored to clarify our vision and set about building our dream of an online community where we could engage with others in spite of our geographic location. We have built this site using the same online tools that inspire us, only having spent 2 days together face-to-face and assembling a team from around the world to build theInteract.
